I noticed a few weeks ago that some of the ladies on here were talking about using the EASY system with their lo's and that it was better than Babywise for the kids... I get the Eat, Activity, Sleep part of it- but what does the Y stand for?
L has been very crabby for the last week or so and bedtime has been a nightmare! At first I thought it was just struggling to get back into a routine after our weeklong camping trip, but now I'm looking at different options to help him get back on a schedule that works.
I like the Babywise book in theory, but haven't tried it yet and vaguely remember people mentioning that the EASY was easier to do... Anyone use it and willing to offer some pointers?

Re: EASY ?
He is- no buds yet, but he has been drooling and gnawing on stuff for about three weeks now. He had a little growth spurt two weeks ago when we were camping, when we went to head home we had to adjust the car seat straps because they were too small!
I'm thinking it is a sleep or schedule issue because he is tired a lot, but just fights and fights it until he is so overexhausted he just drops... Screaming bloody murder then 20 seconds later is sound asleep!
The Y just stands for "you" - meaning do something for yourself while LO is sleeping. Honestly, I think she just added that to make it spell EASY so it would kind of catchy.
He could just be going through a phase or teething like pp mentioned.
It only works if you consider "you" time to be cooking, cleaning etc.
We were doing this before we knew there was a name for it - it just kind of happened naturally and has worked really well for us. It was also nice to not have going to sleep paired with eating - I think it made it simpler for her to go back to sleep by herself in the night.
Early on the Y=you was time for me to nap/rest. Then that time evolved to balancing the checkbook etc - whatever most people do when LO is napping. I wish it meant "get your toes done" or "massage" but it doesn't...
EASY and BW are pretty much the same thing really - i followed BW and it worked great - with all 3 of my boys - they were STTN at 8w. BW is pretty much started right away - when home from the hospital (depending on when baby is born).... so i'm not sure how it would work if you started it later - 4mo is a tough time - wakeful periods, etc.
