Moving around in the crib

Due to Evan's reflux we use a sleep positioner so we can put him on his side. We also swaddle him because he still jerks around and wakes himself up. Well, for the past few nights when I have gone into his room when he wakes up hungry at 4:00 am, I have found him at the foot of his crib (feet hitting the crib) and his head is at the bottom of the sleep positioner. He was on his back so he was able to breathe just fine, but he was irritated that his feet were hittig the crib.

He hasn't started showing signs of rolling over, so I'm not sure how he is doing this. I removed the bed wedge that elevated his matress to a 30 degree angle, but he is still doing this.

Should I be worried? Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening?

Re: Moving around in the crib

  • We use a sleep positioner and put DD on her back - there have been a few times that she has ended up at the top of her crib (head inches from the slats) and I think she's just pushing up with her legs when she has gas or an upset tummy. That may be it with Evan too - he might just be squirming when he's uncomfortable and ends up scooting to the bottom.
