I was reading 'So That's What They're For' last night to brush up on my BFing knowledge and this part totally made me think of you
"Dealing with a Perceived Six-Week Milk Crisis"
I won't retype the whole thing but here are the main points
-around this time lots of mothers think they aren't making enough milk
-2 things happen at this time: your body becomes used to making milk so your breasts no longer feel 'full' (because the swelling has gone down) and your LO is nursing almost constantly to build up milk supply for his growth spurt.
-Don't worry that your child isn't getting enough milk, the more he eats, the more your breasts will produce.
Hope it's going a little better!
Re: ~Nicole~ bfing
OMG - IT SAYS THAY?!?!?!?!?
You know, every. single. woman. I know who nursed (except my mom and SIL) QUIT at that mark all for that same freakin reason!!!! Right at that time was when I started having problems too - when Mari was fussing and her latch became "inefficient" (said the LC). All these women claim that their milk dried up (I literally mean EVERYONE I know who's had a baby). The Greekies all say it happens at the 40 day mark - they all think it's like an omen or something that poof - your milk dries up right like magic and I've been trying to tell them it doesn't, but they don't believe me!!!! They think I'm like super-woman b/c I'm still producing milk - lol.
I wish I had that book to show them!
