Separation Anxiety so late???

The last few days Aaron has been "complaining" whenever he's not in my arms.  I won't say crying per se, but definite sounds of distress.

I can't get anything done at home or at work.

Wasn't this stage supposed to be earlier? He's 10 months old!

Yikes.

  • You know what?  I was just about to post this same exact post a few days ago!  What's up with our boys?  Same thing with Nicholas!  He's literally attached to me...and this has only been going on for about 2-3wks, never happened before.....

  • Separation anxiety comes and goes.  It seems like every few months it gets bad, and then it's not so bad for a while.

I think, they all do it in their own time. M had a wicked case of separation/stranger anxiety for months and has only just started to settle down. He's still majorly attached to DH and I, but it's not quite so bad.

Hopefully Aaron and Nicholas can get through it relatively painlessly. Painlessly for you, that is Stick out tongue

No, I actually thought it didn't start hitting until something like 8 mos so sounds like he is right on track.  I remember DD not getting it until close to a year and then dealing with it off and on until about 2.5.  Fun times.  I would just tell her she was fine and to pipe down and do my own thing, acting like there was nothing wrong and she'd eventually snap out of it.  It's the start of testing.  It's fun.

  • I don't have this problem but DH sure does. The second he's home she needs to be in his arms.

  • This hit hard and heavy from Ada just last Thursday (like 8 days ago). She went through a phase when she was about 4 months old but it was short-lived and she wasn't so loud then :)

What's exhausting about this go around is that not only does she insist on being actively held by me but she would also prefer if I remain standing the whole time. My guns are getting a work out!!
