I'm in the same boat as you! I posted something similar a few posts down. I am thinking of getting a jumperoo, but not sure if it's necessary b/c DD has an excersaucer. I also thought of a walker? I dunno. Ideas would be wonderful!
I went to the dollar store and bought two small plastic bins and put all her baby toys in them. I pull one down at a time and she enjoys picking the toys out herself. That's how I've gotten a little more play out of the baby toys.

Thanks for the advice! And btw, I just love that pic of your LO with the chickens!

Yeah, I was wondering if I should get her a walker soon...
Be extra careful with a walker. There have been so many accidents that while they still sell them they aren't recommended any more. Babies can pull things down, knock into things knocking them over, stuff like that.
We went out and got a light-up flashy toy that DD has to sit up to play with well. She loves it. It's a steering wheel kind of toy. We also got one that she has to sit up with better posture to play with but it kinda sucks. It's a light-up workbench kind of toy.
She has really started loving her doorway jumper but not for long periods. The excersaucer is a big hit still for us.
DD loves her jumperoo. I am considering getting her an exersaucer as well. I found an exersaucer at Wal-Mart that is an exersaucer and walker all in one. Check the link below. I think this is what I am going to get.

Is your steering wheel toy yellow and made by v-tech? My LO has that one and is obsessed with it!
To OP, stackable cups are great and only like $4. My LO also likes balls and different rattles and stuffed toys that make noise. He has a small board book (its about 3 inches by 3 inches) that keeps him occupied for a long time. We also put his toys in a tote and let him pick out what he wants.
DD plays with her exersaucer, but I also found this great brand, B.toys. I found them at Target, but they have lots of fun, inexpensive, toys for all ages. Right now DD is playing with the rubber number blocks they are safe for baby to chew on and they won't hurt anything or anyone if they are thrown.
Re: what toys work great for a 5 month old?
