hmm never heard it- how do you pronounce it? I like all things Dutch, so I'm leaning toward liking it. It doesn't sound like leak (like a faucet leak does it?)
Hmm, I'm not a huge fan. I think she would be in for a lifetime of mispronunciation and misspelling. To me, the pronunciation looks like it would be Leek.

I like it. I agree she may be doomed for a lifetime of misspelling and mispronunciation but I like the sound of it. I have a niece named Alika (uh-lee-kuh)

If I were to see that name a thousand times I would pronouce it "Like" every single time...but it is very pretty when you say it correctly, but I don't think very many people will.
I think it's pretty and I would have no problem with pronunciation although I'm Dutch and come from a very Dutch area of the US so I've seen this before. If you're concerned with people pronouncing it incorrectly why not some of the other suggestions. Mieke is very pretty also and so were some of the other names suggested.

Re: Lieke for a girl?
Hmm, I'm not a huge fan. I think she would be in for a lifetime of mispronunciation and misspelling. To me, the pronunciation looks like it would be Leek.
I'm sure you're aware, but Lieke is a diminutive and not traditionally a full, formal name.
A similar (and IMHO better) option is Mieke, the Dutch diminutive for Maria--very traditional, lovely Dutch name.
ETA: Other favorite Dutch girl names - Anneke, Marlies, Katelijn, Evelien & Griet.
Lol...torture. Love this response.
Clearly you are a fount of worldly wisdom.
And, I'm beyond curious as to your favorite names....
