Parenting after 35

and... we have thrush :(

Anyone use Nystatin topically to treat the breast area and baby's mouth?  If so how long did it take to feel better?  I was seen yesterday and started the topical yesterday afternoon, still feels like a bee stinging my nip all the time :(

On a positive note, my little love started crawling on Saturday!!  Every time I think about it, I smile and forget the pain in my boob!  Also, thankfully, she doesn't seem to have symptoms, just me - but Dr. said treat us both.

  • We had it.  Nystatin didn't work for us and I was in serious pain for three weeks.  The pediatrician was insistent that it would clear up in a few days. We had both the suspension for DD and a cream for my nipples.   We used Gentian Violet and the thrush was gone after 3 uses.  I feel for you, thrush is not pleasant!
  • We had the Nystatin ( on call pedi) and after one day her reg pedi switched it to the Diflucan. She said the Nystatin would take about a week to stop it but that the Diflucan would stop it much faster and it did, within 24-36 hours it was MUCH improved and gone a day later.
