moms with mobile LOs

So DS has decided he likes crawling under things as well as around the middle of the floor.  How do you keep them from crawling under things?  We have a coffee table that has a shelf underneath, so it's pretty low, but still enough room for him to get under.  He's "creeping", so not up on his knees yet.  I suspect when he's on his knees he won't fit.

Any ideas?

  • hmmm not sure and i'm curious what others have to say... miss A is trying to get under our coffee table too but usually i just move her away and distract her but that's a pain b/c she is persistent! :) she tried to get under the sofa the other day and while she didn't hit her head on the bottom of it, when she couldn't fit under she started fussing LOL

Bella is VERY mobile. She doesn't crawl on all fours because her knees slide out due to our wood floors, she kind of army crawls and uses her toes to push herself forward... silly girl!

It's all about distraction at this stage in the game. It sucks and like Jaime said they are SO persistent! She screams when I move her and heads right back in that direction so needless to say, I keep moving her to the opposite side of the room. She too, cries when she can't fit... I'm trying to figure out how to childproof our cords near our computer. any ideas?

she does this too!! she cries and then i feel so bad :(

for the cords, it is not a pretty solution but it is cheap and easy...you can use paper towel rolls...it's what i used to do when my kitties used to try chewing on them!!
