I ask this because our little grocery store has the child size carts, but we usually do our 1 large shopping trip at Kroger and they don't have the child size carts at our store. Do you think it would be okay if I take my daughter's grocery cart? She will only sit in the cart for so long and then she likes to shop. Just wondering if anyone else has done this.
Re: Have you ever taken your child's grocery cart to the store?
I never considered this and think it's adorable!
However, I can't imagine all of the stuff i'd have to end up buying because she tore it open to start eating it or chewed on it (on sunday at CVS, DD bit open a $9 toothbrush that I had to buy. lol)
I got DD1 a kid-sized version of the little shopping carry-baskets instead, hoping it would keep her occupied on grocery trips when she didn't want to ride in the cart.
Instead it was just a distraction. She kept putting it on the ground, taking everything out, and putting it back in. Like every 20 feet.
Maybe it'll work when she's a little older, but I haven't tried it in awhile because for awhile, my shopping trips were taking like three times as long as usual.

I have seriously considered buying a toy shopping cart just for this purpose! The "expensive" grocery store near us has kid carts and DD JUST LOVES it!
And, I'm thinking for the quick trips, we'd just use DD's cart, rather than me getting a basket.
I think this is a great idea and I doubt anyone would mind, so long as you're not the parent that lets their child run rampant or run people down.
My DS likes to get in front of me and push the big cart. He doesn't have a small cart toy. That's a great idea.
