First, I'm new to the message boards so I'm sorry if I don't use all the abbreviations ![]()
My Husband and I are at the end of month 8 of ttc and my obgyn has had me using ovulation kits, charting basal body temp and carvical mucus. I haven't been on bc for over 4 years. My cycles are extreme and I don't ovulate every month and the months I do aren't even close to being around the same time. I have uterine fibroids (6 that are golfball size). We have lost a baby before and since then my cycles have gotten worse. So we do have some odds against us and I see the importance of charting. Honestly though, it stresses me out...it makes me stress about it the more I have to do. I am worried enough as it is. Now my obgyn is sending us to a fertility specialist because he is concerned. My friends all get pg with one try basically and most of them are done trying so they just don't understand what I'm dealing with. They say "if it stresses you out don't do it" but I think it will be beneficial for the specialist. I want to keep charting but I am overwhelmed with it. What am I suppossed to do...I'd appreciate your thoughts since you are going through the same thing. I just didn't know where else to turn for advice on this.
Re: Charting Advice....
I think you are smart to keep charting. Even though analyzing your temps can be stressful...it would be a lot worse having no clue if you ovulated.
Once you are done initial testing and start monitored cycles with your RE you can stop if you want to.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Going to a specialist was the best for me. I felt like I was truly in the hands of someone who knew what they were doing. I call my DR. the CEO of getting women pregnant. He is so confident and calm and it's his job to get women pregnant, and he's great at his job.
I don't chart though, because of the clomid + u/s there really isn't a need for it, though temping would be nice to see the exact time of ovulation. But not necessary because I'm taking a trigger shot.
Best of luck, I hope your specialist is someone that makes you feel less stressed.
