Re: Moms with Cats
I honestly haven't thought about how to keep LO away from the litter box... I have some time to figure that one out but I'm guessing a baby gate will be involved...
Is the bag stuck in his butt or are bits falling out around the house? I'm pretty sure my cats wouldn't let my kid catch them, let alone get close to their butts enough to touch errant poop. If it's falling out, I'd just have to be vigilant about the situation.
My cat box is in the garage with a cat door and she doesn't even use it since she is an outdoor/indoor cat. She has the wilderness for her bathroom. So once Kiki gets big we might just remove it completely and put it out when we are out of town.
My cat sleeps in KiKi's room but that's it. When K is awake, Trixee Paws wants nothing to do with her. I doubt that she would ever let K catch her.
I saw someone on D&R who made a litterbox like this one:
It's a wooden chest to hide all of it (there's a lid with a hinge that covers it) and this girl also put some indoor/outdoor carpeting in the smaller section to catch any last bits of litter before the cats leaves the box.
I don't even have kids but I hate, hate, HATE cat litter so I was thinking of making one of these anyway.
The picture is from the site www.lovethatcat.com so you can buy one if you have the cash and aren't very handy either.
