Parenting after 35

Could someone please freeze time for just a minute?

I can't even get my breath before Caroline is on to something new. In the last two weeks she's gone from sitting unsupported for about a minute to sitting for as long as she wants, gained a second tooth, learned to go from belly to back (finally, 6 weeks after she went the other way), started giving kisses and hugs (love, love love it)lunging at who or whatever she wants, STTN and last night, while on her tummy, she managed to get her knees up under her and looked like she was ready to take off if she could only figure how to make it work.

It makes me happy and sad all at the same time.

  • I know how you feel. I am so proud of DD when she does something new, but sad at the same time because she is growing up so fast.

I KNOW! Right there with ya sister!

Sydney is behind Caroline a little bit in milestones even though she is older (but we both know who SHOULD have been older!) I was a little bit jealous when you posted that pic of C sitting, then next thing ya know - S is sitting too. Now I am super excited (instead of jealous - haha) that kisses and hugs are coming soon! Teeth... ah, who knows! I have been thinking that the bottom right is going to poke out every day for a month and a half.

  • Dana,

I'm sorry. I was going to DD this post after I saw that I had posted after you. I wasn't trying to compare milestones and I know that's what it looked like I was doing.

The milestone stuff all evens out in the end with all of our babies being ahead in some and behind in others. What I call a "kiss" may actually be her trying to just put my face in her mouth.

I was so jealous that you were getting rid of the swaddle that I tried  it tonight. Fail.

No, no, no.... Laura, please. Don't even think that I saw it as *comparing* milestones! I know that's not what it was. You and I posted the same thing - excitement at our little girl's achievements. It is a little bit funny that we were both jealous of different things though. Now I feel bad that I posted about what a great night we had unswaddled last night before I opened this post again. OK... I'll stop now... :P
