Success after IF

Another swaddle question

Apparently, moving her to the nursery was the best thing we could have done.  Good nights at my house!!

So, Since Caroline is breaking out of her swaddle and sleeping well, should I leave well enough alone or try the break the swaddle habit again?

I'm thinking of going super slow and doing one arm out at first, and then maybe in a few weeks, doing two arms out, then a few weeks after that, try just wrapping her under the arms.

Its a Swaddle Me, so it isn't becoming a free blanket in the crib...but is pushed down under her arms.

Re: Another swaddle question

  • I kept swaddling.  We were doing the same thing at her age...breaking out and rolling to our tummy.  But she still wouldn't fall asleep without it.  So we kept doing what we were doing...if it aint broke...

One day at 9.5 months, she freaked when DH was getting her in her swaddle, so he just put her in her crib after rocking and bottle.  She rolled over and went to sleep!  I think the transition was so easy for us because we waited until she was ready.

As soon as our little girl began sleeping well in her crib and breaking out of the swaddle, we began the deswaddling process, just like you described - one our, then both arms, then nothing.  Haven't looked back.  GL!!

  • I would start slowly deswaddling, one limb at a time.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
