Please help. Re: Stopping BF

Without going into details, I may need to stop BF and would know about a week in advance if I need to do so.  I currently nurse in the AM and PM and pump twice a day.  I don't have the best supply, but it does get painful if I go longer than 7 hours.

If you stopped nursing, how long until the uncomfortable feeling went away?  Did you take anything?  I heard decongestants help with drying up your milk quickly.  Any other tips?

  • Maybe try a tea like this?

  • Drop a session each day and only pump enough to keep comfortable. Cabbage leaves work well too, and ice packs. All else call you OB they may be able to give you Meds if you need to quit quickly.

I weaned slowly, but I have heard that regular birth control pills will dry you up quickly. Also I read that cabbage leaves shouldn't be used by those who are allergic to sulfa drugs. I am allergic, so I'm glad I read it before I tried those!
