Day Care

I live in Louisville near Audubon Park and am looking for a day care.  This is my first child and I'm trying to find a place that will accept infants.  Most places I call only take 2 yo or old.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Day Care

  • This is the Audubon area service list and on this page you'll find two email addresses under the Child Care Referral Service subheading. Those two women can help you find daycare in your area for your LO. https://ccrr.audubon-area.com/index_files/Page466.htm

My only possible suggestion is La Petite Acadamy. They have two locations near you. https://www.lapetite.com/academy-listing

This is a checklist of things you may want to take with you when interviewing potetial daycares to make sure you're making the right choice. https://www.4cforchildren.org/PS/qualityccc.html

I hope this is helpful! I've not lived in Louisville for 6yrs now, and the daycare DD and DS went to on Preston St. I wasn't super thrilled with in the end. I went in and my son's dietary restrictions weren't being closely monitored. (I watched him eat some other kid's food that he wasn't allowed to have.) But, that was 6yrs ago, and I don't know if that woman even works there anymore.

  • Thank you.  It seems like any place I have found close to me doesn't accept infants.  I almost feel like they think parents are supposed to stay home until their children are 2!  I know it is a license thing, but it has been frustrating.

  • I feel your pain! After our exhausting search for a credible place around our area DH has told me he doesn't want me returning to work full-time until LO is 2 or 3. We are able to squeak by with our new budget, thankfully, so that I'm able to stay home.
