yes i am reading this but im not going to pull a preppy, as you say. im curious to know what everyone is saying, on the off chance there is something informative, but i also feel that i have said what i need to say. i refuse to turn this post into an 'i know you are but what am i' post. its not worth it.
everyone has their own opinion and im not going to GBCBOTB for it. the crazy opinions is what i love the most about this board. what fun would it be if everyone thought the same way? or had the same opinions. its would be god awful and boring. if i got offended by everything i didnt agree with i wouldnt have been around here for over a year.

I think your question was fine - you just don't have any way of knowing what it is going to be like until you are there, and even those of us who have been there don't know because every baby is different.
I'd take this approach: you are going to have enough stress on you at that point in your life. New babies are a huge learning curve. Even if everything goes super smooth with the birth, take that time to enjoy the new baby instead of stressing over a party. Babies don't stay new for very long, and there's no going back once they grow.
Just save the party planning thoughts for next year and make his party even that much better.
Re: am i totally insane for thinking of this?
Also - your due date is an estimate, as you know.
Brooke was born 9 days after her EDD. I ended up with a c-section and did not get home until 11 days after her EDD.
I love that your bubble is still there, meaning you're reading all these - but haven't responded since you accused everyone of snarking you.
I sense a Preppy-esque exit coming on.
Ah the old not getting the answer you like so bitching people out who disagree with you route... So classic.
Your snark didn't come until you kept arguing it to the ground and getting snippy with people. You asked for advice, they gave it to you.
You'll probably have the party regardless of what these mothers - who have more experience than you - have to say so I hope it goes splendidly.
