Boston ladies

I have not been on this board in a while (photography obsession has taken me away), I hope everyone here is doing well.  Hoping you ladies can make suggestions for me.  We are going to Boston in a few weeks, staying at the Marriott Custom House.  DH and I both worked in Boston and lived in Braintree for 1 1/2 years so we know the city pretty well but have never done it with kids.  I plan on doing Boston Common (Frog Pong and playground as and just hand out in the park) and Public Garden (swan boats), Children's Museum, Aquarium, and eat at Quincy Market and walk around Faneuil Hall.  And we will definitely eat in Chinatown (Dim Sum at China Pearl and soup noodles).  What else should we do and any suggestions for eating?

  • You have a lot of it covered already, it looks like. DS's favorite thing to do are the Swan Boats (going tomorrow, actually), the Children's Museum, and the Arboretum (we go their to ride his bike and scooter). They also have done a lot of work on the Harbor Walk/Rose Kennedy Greenway - we like to walk to the "new" ICA from the Aquarium. They also had a carousel out o the greenway last summer, not sure if it is up again this year.  DH took DS on a Duck Tour the other week (DS is obsessed with the Ducks) and he really liked it.

Places to eat right downtown...Legal Sea Foods is always good for kids. DH and I like Sel de La Terre a lot (one in the new Mandarin by the Pru and one by the aquarium) and we take DS for lunch their a lot.  Atlantic Fish Company is another one we take DS to a lot, Parish Cafe....

  • My DD loves to take public transportation so we make sure we take a long train/subway ride at some point during our stay.

There's a kids play place in Woburn (I think it's called the Klubhouse) right off the highway if you have a bad weather day.

Science museum is fun even for kids.

We usually take some "field trips" into Southern NH and Western MA because we have friends/family there and have found some fun parks and such.

    Kimball's for ice cream!

eta: Eat at Redbones in Davis.  My DD has the best time there!
