Question about Lubbock, TX

One of my good friends is moving to Lubbock to go to Texas Tech and get her Masters in Fine Arts.  She is trying to find an apt but it's hard to know what to look fo when you haven't been there before.  Ideally she would like to live within walking distance of campus.  Does anyone have any recs? Or places she should definitely stay away from?

    Did you post this on TN also? I'm pretty sure Sarah (LadyBird) just moved back to Lubbock so I'm sure she would be helpful.

    I live in Lubbock!  I am actually at Texas Tech getting my Master's too. Smile  DH is a police officer here and knows the city and every apartment complex very well.  I will ask him which apartments in that area are a nice place to live.
