Pre-School and Daycare

Preschool daycare

I'm in the process of starting a preschool daycare. What are somethings that you look for in a daycare? environment? teaching? food?

thanks

    *  turnover rates -- it there is a lot of turnover, I figured it would lead to inconsistent teaching and be unsettling at best for the kids.

    *  curriculum -- whtat are they teaching?  what about outdoor play?  any tv and how much?  what are the expectations for each class?  how much free play time is given (I would expect a decent amount given the young ages)?

    *  environment -- is it clean?  how are the toys cleaned?

    *  gut feel -- does it feel like a place I would be comfortable taking my kid

    *  security/safety measures

    *  policies and disputes -- how are disputes handled?  what if I have an issue with how my child is treated by a teacher?  sick policy?  free days policy?

  • That's exciting! I love how I get the daily sheet/report of everything like what she ate and they have boxes and would check everything. What time she slept and woke up. They change diapers every 2 hours or if needed and it's recorded whether it was poop  or pee loose etc. The book that was read for the day. what the goal was for the day. what project they did and on the bottom it's checked if diapers, wipes, change of clothes etc is needed
