It went well. I was much better than I expected. It was actually really, really nice to be in my room, with my husband, with no baby in there. I could roll over or cough or whatever, and not worry about waking her up. We had Mommy and Daddy time in our own bed, for the first time in a LONG time...it was wonderful.
She woke up twice to nurse, which is not unusual for her at all...but she did wake up at 5:45am for the day. I'm not at all worried about it...we've been changing so much, I'm really shocked that she is sleeping as well as she is.
She has napped in there a lot, so it wasn't a total shock to her system.
Ohh...once last night, she stirred enough to wake me up. I watched her on the monitor...she had gotten both arms out of her swaddle and had rolled to a different spot in her crib. I watched her fuss a little, then lay her head down and go to sleep while on her stomach. That is the very first time she's ever slept for any amount of time on her belly.
I'm wondering, if being in another room (which makes it more difficult to wake me up...I can't hear the light fussing/movements.) will increase her ability to self soothe? Food for thought, I suppose!

i've heard that removing baby from mama's scent can help them to sleep better--they're not smelling it all night.
glad it went so well!
Penny is in her own room now too. She still wakes to eat, usually twice.
I am so glad it went well. That sounds like a fantastic first night!
I am glad it went well! and yes, I bet she will attempt to self soothe much more!!
