Success after IF

do you drain your baby pool every day?

it just seems like such a waste...yet i am terrified of small animals/children somehow getting in and bad things happening.

it only has three inches of water (in one side, i put it on a hill so there's none in the other side, LOL) but still.

wdyd?

Re: do you drain your baby pool every day?

  • We don't have a pool, but one of those little splash pads.  If we did have a pool, I'm pretty sure I'd drain it every day.  The only way I'd feel better about letting her play in it again was if I could cover it up to prevent animals, birds or poop from animals from getting in there.

  • I drain our baby pool each night.  We don't have fences around my house and so it could be a hazard to other kids that wander into our back yard (even with a small amount of water in it).  Plus I would be grossed out putting dd in it the next day not knowing who or what may have been in the water.  It does seem like a waste of water but I think it's the safest option.

  • Yep, drain it right after usually.  Which reminds me ... I forgot to do that earlier.  I'm going to do that right now.

  • We don't.  But we have 6 inches of water in it.  And we put a bit of bleach in the water.  And we cover it when we're not using it.  That way the sun warms it, and it feels so delicious to get into after work!  :)  If it were smaller, we would just fill it every time we used it.

  • I would.  Bacteria can grow in those pools very easily and with the amount of water that they end up drinking from those pools I think it's necessary.

  • I only have a water table but I drain it everyday because I am terrified of mosquitos.  Also, we filled it two weeks ago but didn't go out to play for about an hour and already there was crap floating in it just from the trees, skieves me out.

  • Yep we do... there are so many leaves and other things floating around that it doesn't stay clean.  It is a small one though, so we arent wasting THAT much water.  :)

  • Yes, I do.  She gets in there with sunscreen on, and it grosses me out that it could just fester in there.  Also, grass and small bugs make their way in also.
