sizing of panties

does the sizing of toddler underpants run small?   I was reading baby rabies and got that idea from her and a couple of commenters.

Re: sizing of panties

  • We bought 2T-3T sized briefs at Wal-Mart. I know we got some Faded Glory, but I'm not positive what the second brand we chose is. They seem to fit fine on him. He's 2 1/2. He still has a little bit of room to grow.

However, he's always been a little small for his age so perhaps if he was right on "track" by the average growth curve, he'd be filling them out perfectly right now?

Anyhow, I'd say they fit fine and right for my little guy.

  • I bought some 2T-3T at Kohls and they do seem small to me.  DD just turned 2 and is average in size and I'm not too sure how long they are going to fit her.  More aggravating is that several of the pairs are already falling apart.  They are really crappily made.  Fantastic.
  • Size 2T-3T have worked for us since DD was 22 months. I had a walmart brand (ones I didnt mind throwing away during the training phase) and those seem really big but all of the character ones I have (elmo, princesses, wonder pets) seem very small. DD is tall for her age but thin, if that helps.
My 2 girls, both born on a Friday the 13th, are exactly 2 years, 2 months, 2 hours and 2 minutes apart! And Baby Boy joined us October 11, 2013! image

  • I agree. We use the Gerber training underwear and I have 3T for my DD who is 33m. 2T would've been too small. She's about 30lbs.

We buy the character ones from Target, and buy the 3T. He usually wears 3T or 4T pants, and the underwear was a bit saggy in the butt area. Once I washed them multiple times, they did shrink quite a bit.

  • based on the size measurements on the back of the packages, they seem to run small.

2T goes up to 28lbs (for girls). 3T-4T is 28-xx lbs. DD is tall for her age, but she's in the 50% for weight and wears the 3-4T ones.
