A couple more food ideas:

You can add marinade to the meat before you freeze it, so you can just dump it into the oven or onto the grill.

If you use ground beef, you can brown it before you freeze it to make it very easy to use.

Keep some pasta and jarred sauce on hand for when you forget to take something out of the freezer - you can add the pre-browned beef or sausage or fresh herbs if you don't like the plain jarred sauce.

As Peppernut suggested, you can make a few meals ahead and freeze them so all you have to do it heat.  You can put a lot of things into the oven straight from the freezer, it will just take a bit longer to cook.

    That is not a coincidence - if I have to work (or think) to hard to make dinner, I give up and order out, which is not budget friendly!
