They sent me home with bags full of needles and Q-caps and all these other nasty looking things designed to torture the infertile. The good news is that I have all the IVF meds I need. The bad news is I have to take a PIO shot starting the embryo transfer until I am 9 weeks pregnant. I guess if I was pregnant it wouldn't make it bad news anymore, now would it? We also found out that the meds to knock me out for the procedure aren't covered under the multi-cycle plan we bought so that bumps our grand total up another $600. Also, if we have extra eggs it is going to cost us $700 to store them (per year). Obviously I won't throw extra eggs away just in case the fresh IVF doesn't work. So now we are looking at another $1300. And I just quit my job..... DOH!
Why does this sh!t have to be so expensive?

I'm sorry about the extra expenses. It stinks that they wouldn't tell you everything up front. Have you asked about sperm storage? A few IRL friends got surprised with that one - the clinics wanted to keep frozen sperm on hand in case of any "issues" on go-day.
Good luck with the shots. I understand it's hard at first - both emotionally and physically - but I'm hoping you'll get in to a rhythm quickly.
Big hugs to you - I am rooting so hard for this first cycle to give you all the embies you need to grow your family. love you girl!!
