what dosage of colace do you use?

I haven't taken it, but I give my patients 100 mg twice a day for routine bowel meds.

My dog gets 50 mg a day (25mg in the morning, 25mg in the evening).

Go and buy some Fleet glycerin suppositories to give you instant relief. It will give you a bowel movement in 15 minutes. It's just glycerin, it won't hurt you or the baby.My fertility Dr and the IVF coordinator both told me to take them as often as needed and that it was very important to keep it regular so I am not straining. And I take two colace at night EVERY night. It won't make you have a bowel movement, it just softens your stool. I hope this helps.

i have a laxative that the pharmacist told me was the generic for one of the ones my dr said was ok to take... i dotn remember if its colace or a diff one... but they come in 5 mg tabs and it says to take 1-3... it had been about a week since i had a good normal bm so i took only 1 to see how it would work and wow... i had a lot of diarrhea but it didnt last long so i told myself i'd never take another laxitive... and i actually just took another one because since the diarrhea 1 week ago tomorrow i have had NO BM at all

I take 1 colace a day- not sure what dosage is because I don't have the bottle in front of me.  (so not sure how helpful my post is...lol)   Since Colace has to do with adding water to your stools/intestine it doesn't actually get absorbed.  At least that's what my doctor told me so it is safe to take daily.  Helps me out a lot.
