  • I put that mostly the tv is on, but a lot of the time, it is on a music station.
  • Loading the player...
  • We have the TV on, but it's usually on the kid music channel.

  • I said TV too, but we always have on a DVD of  toddler songs that DS loves.  It's the only 'show' that he'll watch/listen to.

this but we also have on nickjr.

we do read books a lot more than tv...but tv is there when I need to get dinner ready or do laundry or something else...

I was sooooooo against any tv while pg..now I find she has learned sooooooo much from the nickjr shows..its amazing!!

yesterday we went out and bought a cdboombox because DD loves music and I want to cut down tv time

this all happens in the 1-2hrs I may have with DD after work :(

  • Sadly, I am only home with him on weekends.  I don't usually have any background noise going, although I might put a CD on for a dance party.  DH usually likes to have NPR (Nat'l Public Radio) on...for the record, I do like NPR but I don't usually listen at home; usually in the car.

When Cal was a newborn and I was on maternity leave I would watch the Today show in the AM, then shut it off and not turn it on again until the nightly news (and it would usually stay on all evening).

  • I try to limit the amount of time that I have the TV on. . . but we have it on in the morning and at dinner/bedtime (he goes to bed at about 6:30pm these days).  Sometimes I turn it to a music station/channel. . . I try to keep the TV off during the mid-day.  Some days I'm better than others.

  • We'll usually put on a Toddler Tunes station on the television and then turn the screen off.  She likes running around singing to the songs while she's playing.
  • After breakfast, I turn on the tv so DS can watch Sesame Street or Some other show on Nick Jr while I clean up and do a few chores for about 30-45  minutes.

Then it goes off.   After dinner, he watches another 30-45 minutes of Nick Jr or Disney on Demand.

Sometimes I'll put on a music channel while I am making dinner.

  • Tons of Laurie Berkner CDs, of classical music all day long.

We will, however, watch 1 episode of Sesame Street while I shower and do laundry.

If it's a Rockies day baseball game, then we watch that.

  • Music.  We almost never have the tv on in the background, unless there's a big golf tournament on.
  • If anything is on it is the TV - but it is sometimes on the music station.  I have the Today Show on in the AM for about an hour, but after that I don't watch much TV until the evening news.

Sometimes I have it on just to hear "big words" and feel connected to the outside world.  I would say it is off about 50% of the time.

Depends if DH is home.  When he is, it's usually NPR talk radio on.  If NPR is playing music, he usually switches to AM.  Sometimes he has the tv on.

If it's just me, I generally have nothing on because I like quiet every once in a while. ;-)
