An acquaintance of mine recently learned she's having a boy. She wants an unusual/unique name, but not something that's so out there it looks made up. She doesn't really have a particular style - her tastes are all over the place. So, I'm trying to get some ideas for her. What are some of the more unusual (but not completely off the wall) names out there for boys? I'm not much help on my own, because I prefer more traditional names.

Re: Boy name help?
bump sucks. sorry
I just read on here a name... Arden. I kind of like it. Its unusual and unique
She could always go with Finn or Parker too.
HTH!
Edit to finish post.
I don't have many unusual/unique names on my list either. Here are a few that I would consider to be a bit different though:
Weston
Clayton
August/Augustus (with nn Gus)
Gibson
Some others that I wouldn't consider unique, but also not overly popular:
Patrick
Spencer
Austin
Hudson
Seth
Bennett
Simon
Pretty much everything else on my list is traditional.

Lol, I got you covered on this one!
Abram, Abel, Anders, Arden, Booker, Deacon, Elias, Emerson, Harkan, Harlan, Holden, Madden, Rowan, Ryder, Sawyer..
those were all unique/uncommon names I had picked out lol.
DH and I had a ton of less common names on our lists. Most aren't really unique, they're just not incredibly popular at the moment. I'll list the names on our list that weren't in the top 100, according to the social security website. We looked this up before the 2009 data came out, so this is based on 2008 stats.
Mine: Devin, Calvin, Jared, Alan, Nolan, Travis, Edward, Timothy, Trevor
DH's: Wesley, Dean, Neil, Seth
How about
Destin
Dover
Asher
Gunner
Bram
Deacon

Good luck!
