one more question on swings

I was pretty much set on one of the Fisher Price Cradle and Swings, but hadn't decided on which style.  After reading reviews, some use a/c adapters some only use batteries???  I figured they were all the same except for the theme.  Also, they had very few negative reviews, but the ones that were negative mentioned an issue with the motor breaking after just a few uses and/or it wouldn't swing once the baby reached a certain weight (i.e., 13 pounds but it's for use up to 25 pounds).

Does anyone have any experience with this particular swing and which model do you have (Little Lamb, Rainforest, Precious Planet, etc.)?

Re: one more question on swings

  • I had the nature's touch one, not sure if they still make it, but I loved it.  It had the option to swing from side to side and front to back and I think that's a very important feature.  It also reclined.  The one I had used batteries and we did go through them a lot but that was the only place alexis napped for a long time.  I do wish it had the a/c adapter but it wasn't an option at the time.  We used that almost from day 1 up until she was about 10 months old and reached the weight limit and then i gave it to a friend who used it for a long time with her daughter.  It had the different speeds, so when she got bigger, I would put it on the higher speed and it worked fine.  When she was born she was really little (6lbs 4oz) so even the slow speed was a little fast I thought but I would weigh it down by putting a blanket over the front of it so that it barely touched the floor, that slowed it down.  You can play around with different blankets, heavier lighter, etc.

  • We have the Little Lamb and it has been a blessing in the skies.  I would say my only complaint would be that the motor has a clickety sound but quite frankly it didn't really bother me, maybe because of the fact that DD was the most peaceful baby from week one when we put her in her swing.  I would say it's comfy by the feel of it and although it does not have an adapter we would have to change the batteries once every month or so which is not so bad specially because she would spend a really long time in there everyday.

    Personally I recommend it!

  • I have the Boppy Rock in Comfort swing and have used it for both kids.  I like it and both babies loved it. Nicky spent 24/7 in it for the first few months of his life and Adrianna spends quite a bit of time in it too, although she will actually sleep in a crib, so i got lucky this time around
