I'm at the point where my clothes don't quite fit, but I've gained weight everywhere. I have a lot of bloat, but no obvious bump. When will I have an actual bump that is obviously a pregnant belly instead of just looking chubby?
I am tall and have a bit of extra padding to begin with so at almost 16 weeks I think I still look chubby not pregnant, but everyone is different. My girlfriend looked about 12weeks when she was 5 weeks pregnant, but she is very fit.

With my first pregnancy I wasn't obviously pregnant until 20 weeks. I was wearing maternity clothes from around 16 weeks on, just because I couldn't fit into any of my regular clothes anymore, but mostly I just looked chunky rather than pregnant. This time, however, I've been obviously pregnant from around 13 weeks on.
I have a very long torso, and my first pregnancy I started showing around 24 weeks. (That was when strangers started commenting on it, anyway.) My belly was always really small, though, and my fundal height was always 4 under where it was "supposed" to be.
This time, strangers have been asking me when I was due since 16 weeks. So my bump is pretty noticeable and I am getting the "Oh my god you are huge! There has to be two in there!" comments.

I had mega bloat that masqueraded as bump until about 13 weeks and then had 2 skinny weeks and then around weeks 15 and 16 started to really pop. I'm a little over 19 weeks now and am blatantly obviously pregnant.
It works different for everyone though. A friend of mine is 24 weeks pregnant and she still isn't showing enough for strangers to be sure she's pregnant.
Thanks everyone. I have a feeling that I won't show until about 20 weeks, since I'm fairly tall (5'8") and have a long torso. 7 more weeks of feeling chunky...
I think it totally depends on the body type. This is my first pregnancy, I have a relatively short torso, and I have been getting comments on the bump since about 18 weeks. But people who don't know I'm pregnant still act surprised like they didn't notice. Not sure if they're just trying to be polite, or if it still really doesn't look like I'm pregnant (or maybe they're just oblivious).
I am at 16.5 weeks and I still just look "chunky" I still wear my regular shirts and mat pants just because my other pants won't fit, but no one has commented yet
I'm 19 weeks and still don't have a bump. I recently started wearing maternity clothes cause my pre-pregnancy clothes are getting a bit tight & uncomfortable on my belly. I'm only 5'4", middle build & only look like I had a big meal. It feels like the bump will never come :-/!!!
For me, I think I got an actual bump around 14 weeks, but it became really prominent around 16. Here are images of me from 13, 14 and 16 weeks.
Super cute!!! It is amazing how much a body can change in that short amount of time! I look about the same as your 16 wk at 19 wks.
I think it also depends on what you wear- most of my tops are loose so the belly is just poking at my tops making me look more chubby than pregnant. I wore an empire waiste top yesterday (which makes even the flatest belly look pg) and had my first stranger ask about my pregnancy! That was exciting- I'll be wearing that shirt more often!

Agreed. I'm almost 18 weeks and I still look like I ate too many cookies. My doctor told me I'd "pop" around 20 weeks...

I am quite small, so I think I started to show very early - by week 14 there was no question with people I knew, and shortly after (within a week or two) I had strangers asking me as well.
My bump is hardly showing! I've been wondering when i will start to show. Plus im still in my pre-pregnancy clothes! I have heard that most women dont even show until their 7th month!
I'm a little over 18 weeks and short (5' even) and I just started showing about a week or two ago. I still don't get many stranger comments, but since I recently graduated to maternity and empire style clothing (they are just more comfy), I've started to get comments. The tighter the clothes, the more you can see it, but if I wear baggy clothes, you can't really notice. Everyone still tells me I'm really small for 18 weeks though. I'm just excited that there's finally a bump there and I don't feel like I've been chowing down on too many big macs ... which I have :-)
I just started showing within the past week or two,23-24 weeks.I have had a few stares, but still no "when are you due?"comments, but I am tall 5'8" and size 14-16 pre-preg.I think I look obviously pregnant and people who know me do too.

I'm 5'8" and have a fairly long torso too. I think I look obviously pregnant, but I haven't had any strangers say anything to me. My stomach is not big at all and I can easily still see my feet and legs. I'm still waiting to get bigger! I hope it happens soon!
ugh, I look chunky. I'm 5ft and gained weight during 1st tri in whole torso and while there is a bump, i have to suck in my stomach to see it. Otherwise, i just look like i've gained weight.
Sometimes my belly looks prego, then it goes away. Started to get a bump at 15wk. Hoping to look prego by 20 wk, this sucks. Though, wearing the right clothes helps me when traveling b/c the stewardesses and other passengers put my luggage up for me--especially useful while 5ft tall and prego. ha!
just another 2wk and maybe a world of difference, it's amazing what happens in these weeks.

It really depends on your body shape.

This is my siggy. Love it.

People started noticing about 19 weeks for me- but I'm also 5'1" and all leg (no torso) so baby girl has very little space to spread.
Agreed.
