I like the Sony reader I have, haven't tried the other two. BUT...if it were me, I would just keep saving and get an i-pad. It does so much more, and I love the way the books are formatted. I find it a lot easier to read.
I have the kindle and its great. And amazon has the best customer service. They replaced my kindle for free because the case cover that I bought split it. (do not get anything that attaches wiht prongs to the sides).
I do like that I can down load books via the wisper net even here in Europe and I can get basic internet.
HOWEVER, the Nook allows you to share books. If I were back in the states, I would have gone that route, since I have tons of friends who read too.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Nook. It's so easy to buy books, etc. I have never needed to hook it up to the computer for anything because everything works wirelessly (I think the Kindle is the same). It's cool that the Nook also hooks up to Wi-Fi and you can surf the web. The book sharing feature is fabulous--I just need to get my friends to buy the Nook now
I have a kindle and LOVE it. However, if I were to do it again, I would probably go with the Nook. You can not only share books, but check out books from the library on it. Since I read so much, that would have saved me a TON of $. I emailed Amazon to see if they were going to move the Kindle this way recently and I got a vague response. Basically, they are not sure.
