sister in-law too involved

I love my sister in law dearly. We're pretty much best friends. The only problem is that she is VERY opinionated. She wants everything her way,right down to the color we use to paint my sons room to the things I list on my baby shower registry. I love her to death but how do I let her know to back off a bit?

Yikes, sorry to hear that. It sounds annoying. To be fair, she's probably really excited for you and just wants to talk about the baby. If it was me, next time she pipes in, I'd just say something along the lines of, "Oh, okay. I was thinking XYZ." or, don't even suggest what you were thinking...just listen to her comment and do what you want! You could also say, "I'm so overwhelmed with all the advice I've been getting from everyone. I just need some time to process what we're going to do next." Maybe she'll get the hint? Good luck!!!
