Anyone ever been? I have heard it is one of the top zoos in the country. I was thinking about making a day trip up there and take the boys, but did not know if it is worth the 2.5 hr drive. They love the Indianpolis zoo, but mom and dad wants to enjoy it too. :-)
Re: Fort Wayne Childrens Zoo
Sarah I go there at least twice a week with the kids I nanny. It is an amazing zoo. The new African Velt is awesome so many animals to see and the lions sometimes are laying right next to the glass. Needless to say great photos.
I've been to the Indy zoo and loved it but honestly the Fort Wayne zoo blows me away. Its hours during the week are 9-5. You can bring in food/drinks and eat at the tables or buy the zoos food. Children under 2 can ride all of the rides for free except the pony ride. The rides are the log ride in Australia, the skyride in Africa, the train (which is my favorite), and the carasol in the Rainforest (my 2nd fav). All the rides cost $2/person for over 2 y/o. The pony rides are $4 a person. If you have an Indy zoo membership there is a discount I'm not sure how much it is.
Let me know if you have any other questions. As I said I frequent the zoo!
They are free only on the rides. I *think* its age 1 and up have to pay zoo admission. They have a membership so I haven't looked at the sign lately.
Hmmm, I thought I read 1 and under is free admission.
FUNTIMES!!!!!!!!!
