buzz cuts and rat-tails

I am lurking and read through the buzz cut post.  I am not a fan of buzz cuts, but they are apparently really popular where I live.  The most alarming thing is that the rat-tail/buzz combo is coming back (here, at least) and it is so gross...I thought that fad died a LONG time ago!  Eeeeww.

Re: buzz cuts and rat-tails

  • my younger dd has a buzz cut because she has trichotillomania. The pedi reccommended it because she is so young. I think she's adorable, buzzed and all.

  • kada, that is understandable and by no means did I mean to offend you.  I know a few people with trichotillomania and that seems like the logical thing to do with a young child in that case.

I read the buzz cut post and thought of all the kids I see here with rat-tails.  I just can't believe that people would still pair a buzz cut with a rat-tail.  I thought that went out of fashion in the late 80s, but who knows.  I think that combo looks awful, IMO.

  • no worries. I promise dd will never have a rat-tail. :) Your post doesn't offend me.

eta: I think just some of the comments in bof's post got to me. I'm just being overly- sensitive today.
