I have a couple of Feltman brother dresses that Aubrey can no longer wear and I want to store them to keep them in pristine condition. Anyone know how or has stored one before?
You can go to any drycleaners and get a cedar bag. They are usually blue and cost around $2-5. Just make sure they are completely clean before storing them...if there is the tiniest of stains it will yellow with time. The cedar bag will keep it preserved for a few years.
If you plan on storing them forever, you can ask for an acid free box at the drycleaners. They sell them for wedding boxes and christening gowns. Store the box in a climate controlled room (no attics or basements). The acid free box will keep the dresses from yellowing.
Well Lydia has worn some of mine that my mom stored. And how did she do it?!?! In ziplock bags!!!! She flattened them and they look brand new. They are feltman bros too.
