My #1 is a GOOD pump- dual, automatic with an intesity adjustment setting
2. our tandem stroller, the kolcraft tandem options ii is absolutely amazing but just a stroller that has an adjustable shade, allows your LO to face you in the stroller, and fully recline is so nice. We had a travel system, which was great for as long as she was in her carrier, but you need a stroller that works past the first year
3. my diaper bag- its a fleurville sling tote and not only do I still get compliments on it, its the perfect level of storage for myself and anything baby. plus I don't feel too "momed" by it! If you hate your bag, get rid of it and find one worth keeping-it will make your life a ton easier
4. See Kai Run shoes- or just any really good brand. its so important to help their little feet. I did the Robeez crib shoes before she walked and now we do SKR. They've been so great and she never blisters in them. Its kinda stressful to pick out a good shoe for your LO and its really worth it to spend a little in this area... plus they're darling!
5- CAR- ok not a baby item per se, but I had a hatchback with DD for the first 18+ months and now that I have a honda odyssey...oh my gosh my life will never be the same! yah yah boo vans but guess what! I hated them and once you get those button activated doors you will never go back! plus built in dvd play saves us on long trips and the safety rating is outstanding. I also like having room for groceries and two strollers at the same time! I sleep better at night because we have a vehicle that is made for moms with little kids.
ok, that's as good as I can do...there were other little things, like the laugh and learn home that every kid on earth loves(not kitchen- the kids stand in the sink and it tips!) and an activity mat that my mom forced me to get her at 3 months and saved me from insanity. But those 5...ok the more I think about it the more the mat deserves a spot :P...had the biggest impact on making life better for us.
Other than the obvious ones... - Miracle Blanket - A good baby carrier. My favorite was my Babyhawk, but I like the Moby and I will get a ring sling this time too. - Taggie Blanket - Boppy Pillow - Food processor and steamer. Beaba Cook works well for small quantities, but a large food processor for making baby food in bulk is more useful.
1.bumbo...babies have a great time hanging around in this and staring at their feet also helps to build neck muscles
2. great bath tub like the puj tub that's easy to use, clean and comfy too!
3. sling. i love holding my LO close and this way they can be with you a lot more. Get one where they are able to see your face/emotions/interactions with others. they pick up on so much!
i know it's not 5, but it's what came to me now. good luck, there are a lot of great products out there!
#1 - Bugaboo Frog stroller, it is my favorite and most used item, if you walk a lot or go out alot and use a stroller it is worth every penny to spend a bit of money on it
#2 - Ikea Antilop highchair, if only I knew about this all plastic wonder months ago
I absolutely love Robeez shoes. I had them for both of my sons, for every age range. They are great, and non-restrictive so they don't impede the growth of baby's feet.
Also, my height and growth chart - I think it's called My Growing Years Growth Chart (around $35). It has pockets for pictures of your child for every height you record. Perfect if you don't have a lot of wall space for frames.
And for sleeping -the Rockabye Baby - the Beatles CD was awesome! my kids would really quiet down when I put that one on... I wish is still worked! LOL
Both of these are not essentials, but with a two-year-old, you already know what those are! These are special things that we care going to keep forever. FYI- I got these all online at a Canadian baby store that ships all over the world (Babyandbeyond.ca) if you want to look them up!
The items I will buy differently next time will be : bathtub, swing, and crib bedding. The bath tub sucked (FP Rainforest) the swing was loud (Graco Lovin' Hug) and the crib bedding was boring (Amy Coe Zoo). The items I loved I bought after I had LO. The items I liked the least were items I bought during the most hormonal times of pregnancy. Lesson learned for next time. lol
1. MIRACLE BLANKET. I cannot believe we survived the first 6 weeks before finding this amazing/incredible/miraculous baby product. Forget the Swaddle Mes with velcro--they're worthless. The MB is worth every penny.
2. Baby Einstein Activity mat -- the flashing/music playing sun hanging from the top was DS's favorite thing in the world for the first 4 months of his life.
3. Ergo -- we went through three carriers before finding the Ergo. It's AMAZING. I can carry my 17.5 lb baby around for hours in the Ergo without any back pain whatsoever.
4. Razzberry teethers -- DS's favorite teething accessory. He noms on every side of these rubbery little wonders. I have to admit, they're even better than Sophie (*GASP*)
5. Fisher Price Aquarium -- helps put DS to sleep every night. At first we loved the FP Seahorse, but later discovered the aquarium. It plays for 20 minutes AND has a remote.
I'm shocked that multiple people think the Bumbo is a top 5 item...to me, it's a top 5 *worthless* item. Just goes to show that every mommy/baby is different!
Re: What are your TOP 5 recommended baby items?
hmm that's hard!
