Over the last couple of days,I have had a huge change in my milk supply. Last week we decided to try CIO and since then Nico has been sleeping 7-5/6. When he wakes up, I nurse him and he falls back alseep. This Sunday, I found out some news that has been extremly diffcult to swallow. I'm super stressed about it. Then I got AF on Monday.
Do you think any of these in particular or maybe the combination of all can cause me to be pumping about 4 less ounces a day while I'm at work? I feel like its such a dramatic change. Now I'm adding more stress because of the amount I'm pumping. I've had to dip into my freezer stash to make Nico his bottles for while he's with my mom. Do you ladies have any suggestions for improving my supply? I take fenugreek, drink lots of water. But the stress is killing me. I try to relax but as soon as I remember that bad news or think about what I'm pumping, I panic.
Re: Dramatic change in supply
I don't have any experience, but stress is usually a big factor in these situations. I'm sorry for the bad news and I hope w/e it is is resolved soon.
::hugs::
Stress can be a huge factor in your milk supply...and sadly that cannot really be helped. I have never been one of those people who can will themselves to de-stress or let go. So...I feel ya.
Dark ale beer is a good producer of milk supply. I have also had friends who have taken fenugeek (sp?) to up their supply - with positive results.
Sorry about the bad news. That can affect your supply. Here's what helped me:
flax seed
oatmeal (ate both in Nature's Path Flax Plus Pumpkin Raisin Crunch cereal available at costco)
blessed thistle
mother's milk tea
fenugreek
water
water
sleep
extra pumping sessions (sometimes I would pump 3 times at work and 3 times at home) on work days and on weekends
trying not to think about anything during pumping sessions but all the milk pouring out of me (visualizations)
Sorry I don't have more time to write more. hope things work out!
