Babies: 3 - 6 Months

spit up clear fluid

ok so this morning LO nursed a bit before 6AM and stayed in bed with me and DH.  When he was on his changing table he spit up, but it was clear (he does BM, BM/formula, or straight formula).  All his meals the prior day as well as overnight and 6AM were BM (we introduced green beans last night).  Why would his spit up be clear?  It definately wasn't drool, and has never happened before.

Re: spit up clear fluid

  • When this happens with DS it's related to his acid reflux.  Have you had any AR issues in the past?

  • he had spit up frequently in the past and we did discuss with the pedi... the doc just said that he is a happy spitter so she wasn't concerned of AR.  Because of his frequently spitting up we lowered the amount of each feeding and adding more feeding in a day (we figured his small stomach couldn't handle so much - it seemed to help so we haven't been concerned since)
