I was reading hiker's bm post below. So you successfully pumped for a full year w/o doing formula? I'm not opposed (at all) to supplementing (because I certainly did so with M) but I'm working from home and pumping isn't "that" big of an issue. I think I can do it but I'm always worried I won't be able to keep up. That post made me feel a lot better about things!
Re: peekaboo
Butting in here...sorry.
I successfully pumped for a full year with both of my kids without doing formula. I would have if necessary, but I was able to keep up. With both I went back to work at 4 months with a decent freezer stash already built up. I pumped 3 times a day from 4 to 8ish months and then twice a day from 8 to 10 months then just once a day from 11-12 months. With DD it was a little harder and there were a few times I thought I was going to run out but was able to keep ahead by enough to keep going.
Good luck. It definitely can be done.
Yep! I am very proud of that too. Aside from the formula that DS got for the first 24 hours after discharge, that was all he got, and DD just got BM.
I went back to work and the kids went to daycare when they were 3 months old. I did the same thing with both kids. I pumped 2x/day every day while in the office. I did have a couple of supply issues when my first pp AF came, but I just added in a pumping session right before bed for a week to make sure I had enough for their bottles for daycare.
I BF'd DS for 14 months and DD for 18 months. I stopped pumping when they were 12 months.
You are lucky to WFH so that you can pump when convenient. And I am sure you can do it! Drink lots of water!
