Recommend your diaper brand

What brand do/did you use on your baby? Why did you choose that brand? Any particular brands to stay away from?

Re: Recommend your diaper brand

  • We started out with Pampers, they worked great. We continued to use them until Brady's 16 month appointment when the pedi said that Luvs are cheaper and work just as well. We have been using those ever since (and starting from day 1 with Nolan) and have no issues with those as well.

  • I really think it depends on your baby's body type. I tried Huggies after hearing a lot of great things about them and they leaked like crazy for DS. Right now we use Pampers and I love them, never had a leak yet. Not sure if when he is older we will switch to a different brand, we will see.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

  • I think it all depends on your baby.  I heard great things about Costco brand diapers so we picked up a box to try and they leak every time ds poops.  We received a lot of pre-drymax Pampers and Baby Dry Pampers for gifts and they all work very well.  The Pampers Dry Max gave my son a horrible rash so we aren't buying those anymore.  Luvs works pretty well for us, but does leak at times.  The best diapers we have tried are Target brand and Pampers Baby Dry, but for cost purposes we are sticking with Target diapers.  We haven't tried Huggies except for a couple of sample diapers that we didn't really like.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

We tried Pampers and LUVS in the NB size and they both leaked in LO. We tried Huggies Little Snugglers and they are great-- we've used them in NB, size 1, and now size 2. We also use Target brand Up & Up in size 2, and they are thinner and less absorbant, but still great.

  • We used swaddlers when she could fit into them. They had a diaper shower for dh at work so we had all different kinds.  After she outgrew the swaddlers we tried some of the other pampers and the Luvs and I hated all of them.  We use Huggies Pure and Natural and love them.  They are super soft and we have never had a leak.  We use the Huggies nighttime diapers for overnight.

  • you'll probably get lots of different answers.  we used pampers swaddlers when she was a NB, which i highly recommend.  Now we use luvs during the day and huggies overnights with no issues.  we have also tried target, which were ok but seemed very bulky on her IMO.  i bought some pampers dry max but returned them because they smelled funny and i didnt want to take any chances after hearing some kids got a rash from them.
  • We used Pampers Swaddlers until she was out of NB sizes and then switched to Luvs. We've been using Luvs ever since -- so much cheaper!

  • The only ones we've liked are Pampers Swaddlers (I actually like the Dry Max more than the old style and we only ever had diaper rash with the old style, not the Dry Max).

We hated Target/Up & Up, Huggies and Costco.  They all leaked for us on both babies.  I want to try Luvs at some point because I've heard great things about them.

  • We used pampers swaddlers, until she no longer fit in to them - size 2-3 is the last size they have.  Plus, she started leaking through the swaddlers - I am sure it was because they did not really fit

After that, we wanted to cut down the cost of our diapers.  We tried the Fisher Price Happy Days, Happy Nights

We liked these for a short time, actually raved about them.  But, then in a week time frame - they leaked 3 times.

We then switched to the basic BRU brand - and they are fine.  little stiffer than other brands, don't have a stretchy side, not as "cute" - but in the end, they DO NOT LEAK, so those other "issues" mean nothing to me.

The BRU ones are 1/2 the price of the national brands.  At night we just use a diaper doubler.

We will probably just use these from the begining with this new baby - unless we get diapers as gifts

  • We've been mostly using the Target (up and up) NB diapers, and we have no complaints!   We'll be sticking with Target unless they stop working so well, just because they are so much cheaper.

We also had a pack of the Pampers NB Swaddlers (with dry max), and those also worked well.    If I had to buy diapers outside of Target, that's what I'd go for.

  • Pampers are great on teeny tiny babies.  Unless your baby has really chubby thighs, Huggies will leak on a newborn.

We used Pampers for NB and size 1, but in the size 1s, DS would have blowouts up the back ALL THE TIME.  So for size 2, we switched to Huggies / Kirkland (Costco brand, really same as Huggies), which has elastic at the back (Pampers is open).  They have been great ever since!

  • we are pampers people. we tried the target brand b/c of a recommendation from a favorite nicu nurse, but they were just "eh." so, we are sticking w/our pampers. we started w/them b/c of recommendations from family & a co-worker.
