Suddenly, Whiskey for teething makes sense

NO, not for the child, for me the mom.

It is an absolute crapshoot as to what child I will wake up to anymore.  Friday, Lil Miss was a perfect, delightful angel.  I had a friend over for lunch, and she was so well behaved it would sound like I was lying if I told you all about it.  Then Saturday, she wakes up thinking she is the Queen of Sheba and I am her mere servant.  Lil Miss spent the whole day screaming.  Sunday gave me the Energizer Bunny Baby. She was a lot of fun, but non stop.

Today, Screeching Howler Monkey.

And heaven forbid I dare to change a diaper. Not while she is teething.  Oh, and sleep? It is on a week to week basis now if 'we' decide to sleep through the night or not.  Eating habits - the same.

I love her to pieces. She is wonderful and I love her personality, but for the sake of my hearing, I hope the rest of these teeth come in quickly.

  • I'm sorry she is going through this.  Your post had me giggling at work

LOL.  I hope it gets better soon!!!

  • I asked my Pedi on Saturday what he recommends for teething- and he said....yup...WHISKEY!  (Or any other grain alcohol in the house!)

I thought this was just an ol'-timer thing, but he said he considers it to be safer than Orajel because it is all natural.  He said it gets a bad rap because people (adults, obviously) abuse it, but dipping a cotton swab in there and rubbing it on the gums is the best thing you can do to relieve baby of some pain.

I would have never done it otherwise, but now that I've heard it from the horse's mouth, I am going to try it next time she is in pain.

HUGS to you that Lil Miss feels better soon!

But it tastes so nasty.  Do you really think she is going to like that?

I am sorry you little one is teething.  *Sends over a shot of your fave whiskey!*  You know it will be a little more entertaining now!

Yeah, sometimes it's worth getting the pricey stuff.  DH has his own personal stash so we won't have a problem with trying the whiskey remedy when that time comes.

Well, I collect shot glasses. So, ladies, time to share & share alike Smile
