TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Can I join you guys?

Hi - I normally post a little on TTCAL and more often on TTC after 35.  Today is six months to the day after my m/c at 18 weeks.  Also CD1.  I'm starting IUI this month so at least I have something to look forward to. Anyone else doing IUIs over here?

I also have a question - I'm concerned maybe I'm not ovulating.  I don't temp I use the CBEFM and last month couldn't confirm O.  Also before I got the monitor had a month I couldn't confirm O on OPKs.  I'll be using Femara this month in conjunction with the IUI and I think they do a day 10 ultrasound to see how the follicles are developing but not sure they do an ultrasound to confirm that I did actually O.  I know they said they'd give me a trigger shot if I didn't get a positive OPK but can't you get a positive OPK and not release an egg? Anyway - any suggestions on whether to temp or not is appreciated.

  • I hate welcoming new girls over here, but of course you can join us.

Not sure about your questions....I'd default to the RE or OB on those.

  • Of course you are welcome.  I'm sorry for your loss.

I just finished my 6th unsuccessful IUI cycle.  I did 3 with Clomid and 3 with Follistim.  My RE doesn't do an u/s to confirm ovulation, but I did use an ovidrel trigger every time so she assured me that I definitely ovulate.  It is possible to not release an egg after a +OPK so I would I would probably just do the trigger to make sure.  I temped through most of my IUI's, but my RE said it's useless since the meds can mess with your temps.  I was also keeping track of my symptoms in FF so I just temping - your temp will still drop if AF is coming so it was helpful to me to know that.  Good luck!  I hope your IUI works for you.

Thanks for the info - I'd rather not temp b/c it makes me overly insane :)  I'm sorry your IUIs haven't been successful...yet.

Can't answer your questions. But I'd definitely talk to your OB or RE.

  • Welcome, I am doing ivf so not sure about your iui questions. I did 3 iui's a couple years ago but they didn't work for me.
