Diaper Rash Update

So I took Aaron to his pedi this morning and, yup, he has moderate diaper rash. At least it's not "severe" because it's only in his butt crack and up under his scrotum. The bleeding is only in a few spots.

Basically I'm to let him "air out" today. So he's currently napping NAKED right now. Thank goodness for the waterproof mattress pad, right? And I put him down on a cloth diaper (while I don't CD, I used them for burp cloths) and hope he doesn't pee all over.

I have two Rx creams (one I need to pick up, the one I have is an antibiotic) to use. The one I have I use 3x per day and the other is used at every diaper change.

And no wipes. When he poops I'm to scoop most of it up with the diaper and then rinse off the remaining poo under lukewarm water.

And it was NOT easy to get him to nap after his pedi appt. He wanted to, but was so overtired and uncomfortable that it took 45 minutes for him to fall asleep?and in my arms (naked) because wouldn't settle on his own.

So is he sleeping on his belly or his back? Just trying to picture when he has to pee when he's asleep....and the words "scoop" and "poo" used together just make me laugh! Sorry!

I hope the "airing out" gives him some quick healing.....for the BOTH of you!

So glad you got it worked out.

My MIL is a huge proponent of naked babies. She believes we should let our LO go bare for at least an hour a day. I always thought she was crazy but after this weekends bad rash and with the hot, sticky weather I may actually give this a try.

Well... it didn't last long. Aaron didn't enjoy napping naked. But he was on his belly.

And, yeah, scoop the poop is funny.

I just hope he doesn't poop TOO much today.

Yeah the "scoop" "poop" does sound funny & gross. I hope the diaper creams work. Someone here told me to use Calendula diaper cream because most of the other products I tried just didn't help much. Now it's the only one i use. But when she does get a bit red I do let her go naked for half hour or so. For the most part she poops in the morning so I know when I am safe.

I hope his little tushy clears quickly!

as i said in your prior post, before I realized that you had updated...I am a big proponent of "nakey time"! It does seem though that every day when it is nakey time that is when the neighbor lady sits out on her patio and Orchid wants to go hang out with her. lol. Awkward. lol.
