Moby, safe?

Do any of you have the moby? What do you think about it? Is it comfortable, is it safe? Looking into buying a carrier, just don't know which one I want.

I love my Moby! It is very comfortable and I check DD often. I listen to her breathing, making sure she's in a good position, ect. I think it's safe if you're using it correctly.

I think it is safe. The incidents with carriers have been with a sling.   

Per MSNBC report

In its warning, CPSC said that slings can pose a suffocation hazard in two different ways.

• A sling?s fabric can press against a baby?s nose and mouth, blocking the baby?s breathing and suffocating a baby within a minute or two, the agency said.
• The other scenario involves slings where the baby is cradled in a curved or ?C-like? position, nestling the baby below mom?s chest or near her belly. That curved position can cause a baby who doesn?t have strong neck control to flop its head forward, chin-to-chest, restricting the infant?s ability to breathe. ?The baby will not be able to cry for help and can slowly suffocate,? said the commission?s warning.  

 I position my LO carefully (as per the newborn hold they demo on the site) and I check her often. If its not tight enough they can slip down a little. Here's the link with more info about positioning

I was so against the Moby at first as I thought it diddn't look very safe...I got another carrier (snugglie I think)  and it was sooo hard to get DS in and out of that I finally broke down and got the Moby, I am addicted to it now!  It's VERY comfy and like PP said, you just check often and make sure you practice putting it on and such before loading LO into it!  the instructions are great and you can find videos online (youtube) to help show you how to do it.  The video is actually what convinced me to get one, it really shows you how secure they are in it!

I just purchased and started using my Moby wrap a week ago and so far I love it.  My only complaint is that it does get pretty warm when it's on.  I spent some time researching all the different wraps and finally decided on the Moby, the price is also great.  My little guy is 10 weeks old (8 weeks premature) but still pretty small and he seems to really like it.  He falls asleep everytime he is in it and I feel that it is very safe and secure.  I have gone grocery shopping and even hung out at Barnes and Noble while using the wrap.  My baby is a cuddler and doesn't like to be put down, so it is awesome to have my hands free around the house as well.  I wish I had purchased it sooner!!
