You're supposed to put the bottles in the fridge right after you fill them. Also the bottle of formula after you have opened it. I would say an hour max.
Powder tends to make babies more gassy, although every LO is different. I'm keeping DD on the RTF until three months then I'll try the powder and see if she has a bad reaction.
No your suppose to put it in the fridge and can use it up to 48 hours later. I'm not sure how long you can keep it out, I also throw it away if its been sitting longer than an hour.

I started with powder since I was EBF before, but I use RTF formula when we have to go somewhere that way I know it's not going to go bad until I open it
We started using powder as soon as we ran out of the RTF that the hospital gave us. With the powder, you can mix it and it is good for 2 hrs at room temp or 1 hr after the baby starts to feed. I think it is good for up to 4 hours after mixing if kept in the fridge.
