Anyone have one of the charging mats for cell phone, ipod, etc?

Was thinking of DH for father's day.  Do they really work?

They're okay, but not great.  They are kind of pricey for what they are, and they have several drawbacks.

Primarily, if you have a phone other than an Iphone, or a newer Blackberry, it can be difficult to find the case you need to make it work.  You have to have a special case that plugs into the battery port and makes it compatible with the charging mat.

 If that doesn't sound like what you want to do, there are several nice "charging valets" out there that would give you at least a nice neat place to put his electronics to charge.   They are basically a nice upholstered, or leather boxes with a place to put a phone, an iPod, etc.   Like this.
