James was getting up between 6 and 7 and napping for 1.5-2 hours around 12:30- 2:30.
Lately, he's getting up at 5:30 or 5:45, and is tired all morning (laying his head down, fussy, etc.). But his naps are getting shorter. The last few days we've gotten less than an hour and today he's crying again after 38 minutes. He was really cranky going down, too. Cried for a while until he finally fell asleep.
I tried doing a morning nap, and yesterday he napped about 9-9:45 am but then wouldn't nap again for the rest of the day. Today he refused a morning nap, despite being obviously tired, and held out till the above mentioned afternoon nap, which has lasted 38 minutes.
Help! He needs more sleep (and I need a break!) He sleeps about 10 hours at night, so I don't think that he's getting too much sleep at night.
Re: Nap help-- pleeeeeeaaaase!!!
THats tought. The only thing I can think of is that he's overtired by his afternoon nap so maybe it needs to be earlier. Like 11-1130?
My boys usuaully nap from 11 to 130ish and are good for the rest of the day..
Glad your back!
Bella gets up about 7-7:30am and usually goes down for a 1-3hr nap around 12pm.
There are days when her naps consist of only 45min but then her bedtime is much earlier.
How long has this been going on? Could he be teething?
Can you try to pin point if there is something causing him to wake up so early? Is he too warm? too cold? any noises? Maybe try getting him to go back to sleep right away in the am?
This is a tough one..hoping its a a phase and he goes back to his normal naps.
Hang in there!
After. They wake up around 7 (on a good day) . Have breakfast within 10-15 minutes of waking up . A small snack (like a cereal bar) and milk before nap and then lunch when they wake up.
