Switching bottle brands = fail!!

I wanted to switch LO from Dr Browns bottles b/c they are a PIA to clean and I think he's not in danger of too much gas anymore. So I tried the Nuk brand... nope, not happening. My mistake b/c the nipples are too different from the standard Dr Browns I have. He didn't want to drink from it, just kept staring, squeezing and biting at the nipple. So funny. I guess I'll keep looking... I don't want to be cleaning all those Dr B parts into toddlerhood!!! Aaaah!

OMG I am SO sick of cleaning the Dr Brown's!!!   And we don't have a DW either.  I have tried Playtex Drop Ins, Evenflo Purely Comfy, Avent, and Nuk and DD could not get the nipple figured out.   I thought for sure Nuk would work b/c she loves her Nuk pacis but no...it seriously took 1 hour to feed her.

The Evenflow nipple is probably the most similar to the Dr Browns but she still just couldn't get the hang of it. I am tempted to try to cheapy Gerber ones.

I have thought about trying the Playtex Ventaire or the Born Free but those have some funky parts too. 

If you find something - PLEASE let me know!

I started out with one of the expensive bottles...can't even remember what kind now because Raquel had a lot of gas. I got tired of cleaning the different parts and having them leak all over the place. I switched the the cheapo Gerber bottles...best move I could have made. No gas, no muss, no fuss, and cheap! If I lose one or leave it somewhere...no biggee...it's like a buck or two!

I've used Nuk nipples on the Dr. Brown's bottles... can you use the Dr. Brown's standard nipples on the Nuk bottles?

I tried it and that would have been so awesome. But it doesn't work with the ones I have, the nipple ring for the Nuk is too wide for the Dr B nipple. I only bought one Nuk bottle to test, so not too much money lost. Thanks though!

I saw those at the store, I'm going to try them. If LO takes to them I will be sooo happy to put away the Dr B's with all those frikin' parts!!

I just put some water in one to see and I shook it and it didn't leak. I think these bottles are just like any other bottle without the extra parts and the extra parts are only there to cut down on air that the LO gets. 

Give it a try with some water and see if yours leak. I think the key is just making sure that they are closed really tight (which I think is a common concern even when using the other parts).

Actually I have, on 2 occasions, put together the bottle without the vent and the rubber thingy by mistake and it leaked all over the place!!  Maybe if you screw the neck on tighter than normal it won't leak but that has been my experience.  Let us know though!
