Was looking for a recommendation for a hotel. Also, anything we should definitely do while there? We're trying to go up next weekend as a fun Father's Day. Thanks Ladies!

I lived there for 5 years and now live outside the city. I would stay in Union Square since it is central. The Hyatt and Westin in Union Square are nice (probably pretty pricey though). There are a ton of cute, smaller places as well. The financial district is dead on the weekends so i would not stay there unless it is the Omni hotel or something. You could stay on Nob Hill , but the fairmont and Mark Hopkins are also pricey.
If you want to do touristy things then Fishermans Wharf, Golden Gate bridge thing is fun....you can take the ferry boat ride around the bay. You can also take a ferry to sausalito/tiburon and eat lunch--which can be gorgeous of the weather is nice (keep in mind SF this time of year is often in the low 60's) Definitaly take a cable car up through Nob Hill
There is Golden Gate park and the new academy of science which is supposed to be awesome. There's tons of museums, shopping etc. I would reccomend just driving around some of the neighborhoods to really get a sense of how unique and beautiful the city really is. Drive all the way up Market through the Castro towards twin peaks and you will have the best panoramic view in San Francisco. Have fun!

We were just there two weekends ago because it is seriously our favorite city! The Westin in Union Square is beautiful but a little pricey. You have to go to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 (right next to each other). The Pier has two awesome candy shops at the end and Swiss Louis is an amazing restaurant on the top that over looks the sea lions and the Bay. There's also a great aquarium there. Alcatraz is fun. Ghiradelli square has amazing chocolate (of course) and cute shops. Coit tower has incredible views of the city. Union square has great shopping. Golden Gate park is a lot of fun and has many different things to do (Science museum, Japanese Tea Gardens, Art museums, etc.) and is also not too far from the zoo. The Exploratorium is fun for kids. I could go on and on!

We stayed at an awesome hotel called The Argonaut in Fisherman's Wharf. VERY cool hotel. Go see Wicked if you can get tickets while you're there. The SF production is amazing! Have fun!
Re: Anyone been to lately or live near San Francisco?
We stayed at the Marriott downtown when we went over Christmas and it was really nice and close to everything.
Some things to do:
Alcatraz
Fisherman's Wharf
Chinese Tea Gardens
