juice

What's your take on juice in sippy cups? My husband is from Brazil and juice is really big there even at an early age (homemade juices) so he wants to give it to Raquel. I'm not so in to it. Do you give LO's juice?

Re: juice

  • Heya Dianah! Raquel's pic is just amazing. She's such a pretty girl!

I haven't done it. I think I am afraid to due to the sugar. Jace loves his water though!

  • We've just done water so far, so I'll be curious to see the responses.

And Raquel's big brown eyes could give Margaux a run for her money!

  • We've only done water, though I did give her a tiny bite of my homemade lemon sorbet.  She loved it.  Is that weird?

I know it was sooo bad, it's citrus plus loads of sugar, but it was hot and she was drooling at me.

  • She hasn't had juice yet and she's almost a year old. Pedi discourages it...it's just sugar, even if it is natural.

No juice. I have read in lots of places that there is no nutritional value in juice - better to just drink water and eat fruit!

We give Matt a sippy of water cup at meals after he eats meat and veggies and before the fruit.  He drinks about a third of it.
