as of yesterday at the rehearsal, the show is running approximately 2.5 hours long. omg. Definitely longer than last year.

Our rehearsal took longer than the actual recital.  I hope for your sake that it is shorter than that.  2.5 hours seems really long.  GL!

My daughters recitals are always 3 hours long.

That is what it was like with our old studio and one of the reasons we switched.  The new studio does like 5 different shows that are each an hour long, so it works really well.

Our rehearsal was about 3 hours but the show was only 2.

We were at rehearsal for 3hrs.  Then the director allowed the youngest girls (pre K class) which my girls are in to leave since it was getting close to bedtime for some.  (it was 8pm or a tad after)  My kids dont go to bed until 9pm in the spring summer so we were fine.  

For the actual recital it started a few minutes after 7 and was over right at 9.  

Seems to be common for the rehearsal to be about an hour longer.

Im so glad she allowed the younger girls to leave early

BTW  Hope your little dancer has a great time at her recital.  My girls LOVED it.  I asked them how being on the big stage made them feel.  Kennedy said "Happy" and Kaydance said "realllyy Happy"  HA!

I actually really enjoyed the rehearsal.  It was fun seeing all the girls practice and not have on all their makeup/costumes.  Plus the little girls danced in the aisle and had a blast.  We took coloring stuff and snacks were sold so we were content.
